A Differential Global Positioning System (DGPS) is an enhancement to the Global Positioning System (GPS) which provides improved location accuracy, in the range of operations of each system; the surveys are carried out using DGPS to achieve high accuracy.

There are two DGPS Control points i.e., Control point and Land survey. Control point are carried out to establish networks of point and these points are used for measurements. Hence these site points are recorded for highest precision. Land survey point involves larger surveys to be done with minimum moves and less time.
